BUCKINGHAM, Pa. — A plane landing at Doylestown Airport veered off the runway and into a parked plane Monday afternoon.

Buckingham police said a single-engine plane went off the runway, across a grassy island and wound up partially underneath a small parked plane around 12:20 p.m.

Officials said the occupants of the plane sustained injuries and were taken to hospitals to be evaluated. The occupants of the plane were outside the plane when first responders arrived.

The parked plane was unoccupied, according to police.

The plane was on a go-around in which the pilot discontinues the landing approach and returns the aircraft to an altitude and configuration for another approach.

FAA investigation

According to Federal Aviation Administration records, the plane that went off the runway is a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza. The plane that was struck is a single-engine Cessna 310H.

Police did not disclose the identities of those on board the Beechcraft.

The FAA will investigate the incident.

Doylestown Airport is located on Old Easton Road in Doylestown. It is operated by the Bucks County Airport Authority, which also operates Quakertown Airport.
