One killed in Bucks County industrial accident
MORRISVILLE, Pa. — A worker was struck and killed on the job early Monday at a Bucks County port company.
Kinder Morgan in a statement said an employee was killed at their Fairless Hills Terminal in Morrisville. The company did not disclose any details about the incident or the worker's identity.
"Our thoughts are with the employee's family and our employees following this event," the company said.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) confirmed it is investigating the incident. The agency has six months to complete its investigation and release a report.
Excavating sugar
NBC Philadelphia reported that the worker, a 26-year-old from Bristol Borough, was struck by a digging bucket that was excavating sugar from the hull of a docked ship at the facility on South Port Road around 1:15 a.m.
The Fairless Hills facility is on 100 acres along the Delaware River. It has two dock that handle materials like steel slabs, packaged coils and wire rolls, coal, salt and scrap.
