
Bucks County warns about fake emails from planning commission
☑️ The emails purport to come from the Planning Commission commissioner
☑️ No board member will seek payment in an email, says the DA's office
If you get an email from the Bucks County Planning Commission seeking payment of an application fee it's a scam, the latest example of tech being used to receive fraudulent payment.
The District Attorney's Office said in a statement the email which purports to come from the the Bucks County Planning Commission's board chair was first reported in April and reappeared in August. No member of the board, including the chair, would send any type of correspondence about payment of a fee.
As with any scam email the DA's office advises not to click on any links, download attachment or follow instructions in the email. It also said that personal information should not be given.
Anyone who receives the email can contact the Bucks County Planning Commission at 215-345-3400 to verify the request. Do not use any number provided in the suspicious email.
Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpike E-Z Pass users have been receiving texts since 2024 year demanding payment and threatening fines and loss of driving privliges.
