BUCKINGHAM, Pa. — A quiet Saturday afternoon was shattered by gunfire in a Bucks County neighborhood.

Police fired at a driver on  Redfield Road  around 4 p.m., according to Buckingham police. One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of an injury. Buckingham police did not disclose details about what led to the shooting. An investigation continued into the evening but police said there was no ongoing threat to the community.

Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn said that the man, whose identity was not disclosed, "aggressively pursued" neighbors with a weapon while "shouting politically and religiously charged statements." The residents locked themselves inside their homes,according to Schorn.

Two weapons were also found on the man.

A resident told NBC Philadelphia that video from his Ring camera showed the van going over the curb and into a pickup parked in his front yard pushing it into a free. When the driver got out he was "incoherent" and chased a neighbor with a chain.

Report: Taser had no effect

Officers first tried to use a self defense energy weapon Taser-brand device which had no effect, the resident told NBC Philadelphia. The shot was fired when the driver came at police with a blade, the resident said.

The District Attorney's Office did not disclose the identity of the driver or any charges or summonses. He was still hospitalized as of Sunday night and will be charged upon his release.

All police-involved shootings in Bucks County are investigated by county detectives and reviewed by the county District Attorney's office.
