BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police are looking for help in their investigation of a possible hit-and-run crash involving a child on a bicycle on Sunday.
The child was riding a bicycle in the area of Sheldon Avenue and Dixon Avenue in the Croydon section of Bristol Township between 11:50 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. and was struck by a driver who didn't stop, according to Bristol Township police.
A description of the vehicle or the extent of the bicyclist's injuries were not disclosed.
How the public can help
Police are looking for video footage taken by home security systems that may show kids riding together or a speeding vehicle connected to the crash. Anyone who can help should call 215-785-8501.
According to PennDOT there were 1,255 bicyclists injured in reported crashes in 2024, 19 which were fatalities.
State law considers bicycles as vehicles meaning cyclists must obey all traffic signals and signs. Riders under the age of 12 must wear an approved helmet. Drivers must maintain a four-foot distance when passing a bicyclist.
