LOWER MAKEFIELD, Pa. — The 18 Bucks County residents who died during the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 will be remembered during a ceremony at the county's 9/11 memorial, one of several events planned for Wednesday.

The ceremony at The Garden of Reflection 9-11 Memorial on Woodside Road in the Yardley section of Lower Makefield will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the tolling of a bell nine times to remember the 9 victims from Lower Makefield.

A bell will also be rung to commemorate the falls of the north and south towers of the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and Flight 93's crash in Shanksville, Pa.

The Garden is also Pennsylvania's official 9/11 memorial. It was dedicated in 2006.

The nighttime “Remembrance in Light” Ceremony is held every five years. The next one is scheduled for will be held in September 11, 2026.

Hartsville Fire Company

The Hartsville Fire Company on York Road in Warminster will display 403 flags around the fire station representing the 343 New York City firefighters, 37 New York Port Authority officers and the 23 New York Police Dept. officers who died.

Two additional flags will represent volunteer firefighters John Kulick and Tristan Smith who were killed in action in Iraq.

The station will be open from sunrise to sunset for visitors who may wish to “stop, reflect and remember." A memorial will be held at 7 p.m.

The Tullytown Fire Company hosts their 23rd annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony and Remembrance at 7 p.m. at their 9/11 memorial behind the fire station on Main Street, rain or shine.
