‘Crazy’ man in Warrington, Pa. yard spits at first responders

WARRINGTON, Pa. — A bizarre incident Monday afternoon ended with a man spitting in the face of a first responder and facing assault charges.

Warrington police said they were called to a home on Red Oak Drive in the Chalfont section of Warrington Township around by residents who said a man they described as "crazy" looking was in their backyard carrying a pillow.

When the man identified as Steven Murta, 34, of Warrington, was asked to leave he insisted he was an invited guest.

The officers found Mutra on the patio of another home shouting and tried to get him to go home. He threatened the officers and took a "fighting stance" as officers tried to take him into custody. Mutra also removed a flashlight from one of the officers.

As first responders tried to evaluate Mutra, whose eyes were bloodshot with two black eyes, he spit at them. Mutra was taken to Doylestown Hospital and then to Warrington police department. He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Mutra is being held on $35,000 bail at the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
