
UPDATE: All Clear Given at Villanova University as FBI Investigates “Threat” Against Campus
After a tense morning on campus, Villanova University has given the "all clear." The "all clear" comes hours after campus closed for an unspecified but "violent threat" that was made against an "academic building," according to University officials.
At this hour, the FBI and state law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation. But they've given an "all-clear," and don't believe there is any present danger to the students of faculty at Villanova.
What Happened at Villanova University?
It started earlier this morning when campus officials shared an alert around 7:21 a.m. closing campus for the day and urging students to remain indoors because of "violent threat" against an academic building on campus.

Not many details were initially given, but officials said they were closing facilities out of an abundance of caution. Law enforcement (including the FBI and state officials) were quickly on campus investigating the threat.
Lockdown Lifted at Villanova University
The lockdown was lifted in an update shared with the community around 11 a.m. on Thursday. aT that time, they also announced that other universities had received similar threats today. Though, the exact nature of those threats or even the names of those universities was not immediately clear.
The college, did however, remain mostly closed for the day. Normal operations will resume on Friday. But University officials reminded the community that they may see an increased presence from law enforcement on the campus as the investigation continues.
