☑️ A video on X showed ballots with Donald Trump votes being torn up

☑️ The District Attorney's office has concluded the video is fake

☑️ The FBI is investigating the source of the video

Video purporting to show completed ballots for the Nov. 5 election being destroyed is fake, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

According to the Bucks County Courier Times the video shows someone's hands opening up sealed envelopes that read "official election ballot" and read the ballot inside. If the ballot had a vote for Republican Donald Trump it was torn up. A ballot with a vote for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris was returned to the stack.

"Our investigation has concluded that this video was fabricated in an attempt to undermine confidence in the upcoming election," read the joint statement issued with Yardley Borough police. "Our office is in contact with the Federal Bureau of Investigation who will be attempting to locate the source of this manufactured video."

County party committees react

The Bucks County Republican Committee pointed out some indications the ballot in the video is fake.

"The video is fake, with things such as the color of the envelopes being the wrong shade of green, the paper is not the same quality used by the Bucks County Board of Elections, the envelopes lack a return address, and no employee at Bucks County Board of Election meets the description of the person in the video. Furthermore, no mail-in or absentee ballots have been or will be opened and counted until election day on November 5th," the committee said in a statement.

State Senator Steve Santarsiero, the chair of the Bucks County Democratic Party, blamed Trump supporters for creating the video to cast doubt on the vote by mail system.

"It is clear that whoever made the video and those that are now trying to push it out on the internet are afraid that Donald Trump will lose and so this is also an act of desperation," Santarsiero said. "Fortunately, we believe the public will see this for what it is, and the election process will move forward without incident.”
