✅ Joann Fabric has 800 stores nationwide including 37 in Pennsylvania

✅ The closures are pending a bankruptcy hearing Friday

✅ Once approved going out of business sales could start Saturday

Joann Fabric is closing over 500 stores nationwide including all of its Bucks County locations as part of a bankruptcy filing.

The 80+ year-old company initially filed for bankruptcy in March 2024 but went private and kept all of its stores open. In a filing on Jan. 15 the chain filed again for bankruptcy largely because of "inventory issues." A final hearing is scheduled for Friday.

The store will close its locations in Fairless Hills, North Wales, Quakertown and Warrington in Bucks and Montgomery counties, according to the filing.

In New Jersey stores in Deptford, Lawrenceville, Mays Landing, Mount Laurel and Succasauna will also close.

"This was a very difficult decision to make, given the major impact we know it will have on our Team Members, our customers and all of the communities we serve," Joann's statement to USA Today read. "A careful analysis of store performance and future strategic fit for the Company determined which stores should remain operating as usual at this time."

If the court approves the bankruptcy filing going-out-of-business sales could start as soon as Saturday and last for several months, according to a statement from Joann.
